Yes, Leah Taylor Salon is currently welcoming new guests.
I specialize in customized blonding, dimensional color, gray blending, gray coverage, fine hair, haircuts, and smoothing treatments. Every appointment begins with a personalized consultation so we can create a plan that works with your hair, lifestyle, budget and preferred maintenance schedule.
New guests can begin by reviewing the service menu, choosing the appointment that most closely matches their goals and completing the required consultation form.
-
Yes. Every appointment includes a thorough consultation.
I also ask all new guests to complete a consultation form and upload inspiration photos prior to their visit so I can fully understand your goals and prepare for your appointment.
-
Appointments are booked online through the salon’s booking system.
The booking process is simple:
Review the service menu.
Choose the service that most closely matches your hair goals.
Reserve your preferred appointment time.
Complete the consultation form before or immediately after booking.
Upload current hair photos and inspiration photos.
Arrive for your appointment and enjoy a personalized salon experience.
Your consultation form must be completed so I can review your goals and confirm that the correct amount of time has been reserved.
-
Please provide as much detail as possible about your hair and your desired result.
Your consultation form should include:
Recent photos of your hair in natural lighting
Inspiration photos
Your recent color history
Any box color, permanent color, lightener, henna, or at-home treatments used
Your preferred level of brightness or depth
Tones you like or dislike
Your usual styling routine
Your ideal maintenance schedule
Any concerns about damage, breakage, thinning, or sensitivity
Accurate hair history is especially important when planning blonding, dimensional color, gray blending, or a major color transformation.
-
Once your consultation form has been submitted, I will review your hair history, current photos, inspiration photos, and desired result.
If your selected appointment appears to be the right fit, no additional action may be needed before your visit. If I believe a different service, additional time, or an alternative plan would better support your goals, I may reach out before your appointment.
Your service plan will always be finalized together during the in-person consultation at the beginning of your visit.
-
Choose the service that most closely matches the amount of change or maintenance you need.
Custom color appointments are organized into four session levels:
Mini Session: Best for refreshing brightness around the face and hairline between larger appointments.
Partial Session: Ideal for maintaining dimension and brightness through the top, sides, and areas most visible when the hair is styled.
Full Session: Best for a complete dimensional refresh, new guests, or anyone who has gone several months between color appointments.
Transformation Session: Designed for major changes, dramatic brightening, corrective color, significant dimension shifts, or appointments requiring advanced techniques and additional time.
Your final color plan can be adjusted during your consultation.
-
Your first appointment begins with an in-depth consultation.
We will discuss:
Your current hair condition
Previous color history
Inspiration photos
Brightness and depth
Placement and dimension
Tone preferences
Haircut goals
Styling habits
Home-care routine
Maintenance expectations
I will then create a customized plan based on what is realistic and healthy for your hair. Some goals may be achievable in one appointment, while larger transformations may require multiple sessions.
-
A card on file is required to reserve your appointment time. Because I work one-on-one with each guest in a private suite, every appointment is specifically reserved for you.
The card on file helps protect the time set aside for your service and allows the booking system to enforce the cancellation policy if needed. Your card will not be charged at the time of booking unless there is a late cancellation or missed appointment.
-
Appointments can be adjusted or canceled with at least 48 hours notice.
Changes made within 48 hours of the appointment time, as well as missed appointments, may result in a 50% cancellation fee of the scheduled service. This policy helps protect the time reserved for each guest and allows the opportunity to offer that appointment to someone else.
I understand that unexpected things happen, and I always do my best to be fair while also respecting my time and the time of other guests.
-
Arriving with clean, dry hair and any inspiration photos ready helps me create exactly the look you want. Prepping in advance ensures we maximize our time together and get the best results, making your experience seamless and relaxing.

-
Yes. Blonding is one of my primary specialties.
As a blonde specialist in St. Petersburg, Florida, I create customized blonde results ranging from bright and high-impact to soft, dimensional and lived-in.
Blonding services may include highlights, balayage, face-framing brightness, lowlights, root shadows, glosses and customized toning. Placement and formulas are selected according to your hair density, texture, porosity, color history and maintenance preferences.
Hair health always comes before achieving the lightest possible result.
-
Yes. Fine hair is one of my specialties.
Fine hair requires a thoughtful approach because each individual strand is smaller and can be more vulnerable to overprocessing, breakage, heaviness and product buildup.
When coloring fine hair, I carefully consider lightener choice, developer strength, placement, porosity, previous color and the risk of overlapping previously lightened areas.
Haircuts for fine hair are also customized to create movement while preserving fullness. In many cases, maintaining weight through the perimeter can help fine hair appear thicker, healthier and more substantial.
-
Gray blending is a customized color technique that softens the contrast between your natural gray hair and your remaining pigmented hair.
Instead of completely covering every gray strand, gray blending may use highlights, lowlights, dimensional color, glosses, or strategic placement to create a more seamless transition.
The result is usually softer and more natural-looking than traditional permanent gray coverage, with a less noticeable line of regrowth.
Gray blending is ideal for guests who want to embrace some of their natural gray while keeping the overall color polished and dimensional.
-
Gray coverage uses permanent or demi-permanent color to cover gray hair and create a more consistent result from roots to ends.
It is best for guests who want their gray fully concealed and are comfortable maintaining their roots approximately every four to six weeks.
Gray blending does not necessarily cover every gray strand. Instead, it incorporates the gray into a dimensional color plan using highlights, lowlights, glosses and strategic placement.
Gray blending generally provides a softer grow-out and may allow more time between appointments, although the exact schedule depends on your natural color, percentage of gray and desired result.
-
Traditional highlights are typically created with foils and can provide controlled brightness from the roots through the ends.
Balayage is a technique that creates soft, blended brightness with a more gradual transition from darker roots to lighter ends.
However, many modern dimensional color appointments combine several techniques rather than relying on only one. Your service may include foils, balayage-inspired placement, tip-outs, lowlights, root melting and customized toning.
The best technique depends on your current hair, desired brightness, color history and maintenance goals.
-
Your maintenance schedule will depend on your service, natural hair color, growth rate, lifestyle and desired level of brightness.
General maintenance guidelines include:
Gray coverage: approximately every 4–6 weeks
Mini dimensional refresh: approximately every 6–8 weeks
Partial dimensional color: approximately every 8–12 weeks
Full dimensional color: approximately every 10–16 weeks
Gray blending: approximately every 8–12 weeks
Gloss or toner: approximately every 6–10 weeks
Haircuts: approximately every 8–12 weeks
Brazilian Blowout: approximately every 10–12 weeks
Keratin smoothing treatment: based on the treatment selected and your home care
At the end of your appointment, I will recommend a personalized maintenance plan and help you determine which service to schedule next.
-
Protecting the condition and integrity of your hair is a priority during every color appointment.
Your color plan may include customized lightener selection, controlled developer strength, careful sectioning, strategic placement, reduced overlap, bond-building support, porosity-based toning and professional treatments.
Olaplex is incorporated into color services when appropriate to support the hair during chemical processing.
I will also be honest about what your hair can safely achieve. If your desired result requires several appointments, I will create a gradual plan rather than compromising the health of your hair.
