How to Create a Voluminous Blowout That Actually Lasts

If you have fine hair, you know the struggle: you finish your blowout with beautiful volume, only to watch it fall flat a few hours later. The secret to a fuller, bouncier blowout isn’t piling on more product—it’s using lightweight products in the right order and building shape into the hair as you dry.

Here’s my go-to formula for creating a voluminous blowout on fine hair without weighing it down.

I start with UNITE BOOSTA Volumizing Spray, focusing primarily at the roots to create lift and body. Through the mid-lengths and ends, I apply UNITE BLOW&SET Lotion for lightweight hold, smoothness and a little extra styling memory.

Using an Olivia Garden NanoThermic Round Brush, I blow-dry the hair in sections, lifting each section away from the scalp to encourage volume at the root. Once a section is dry and still warm, I wrap it into a roller and allow it to cool completely. This is one of my favorite tricks for fine hair—the cooling process helps set the shape and gives you that soft, bouncy movement that lasts longer than blow-drying alone.

If mastering a round brush and blow dryer at the same time feels like a workout, the T3 Aire 360 Ceramic Air Styler is a great alternative for creating that polished, bouncy blowout look at home. I love it for smoothing the hair while adding movement, shape and volume without having to juggle multiple tools. Use it to create soft bends through the ends and lift around the face, then set your finished sections with rollers while they cool for even more volume and staying power.

Once the rollers come out, I gently separate and shape the hair with my fingers. A light mist of UNITE TEXTURIZA Texturizing Spray adds airy texture and fullness through the lengths, while UNITE GO365 Hairspray helps lock everything into place. I love that the hold is adjustable, so you can keep your blowout soft and flexible or build up to a stronger hold when you need it. It’s brushable, non-flaking and humidity-resistant—a major plus for keeping fine hair looking full and bouncy in Florida humidity.

The result? Soft, touchable, bouncy hair that looks and feels fuller—without sacrificing movement.

Why I love this routine: Every product has a purpose. Instead of weighing fine hair down with heavy styling products, this combination focuses on lightweight volume, strategic hold and technique to create the illusion of thicker, fuller hair.
